I got a phone call from a relative telling me my mom was suffering from severe depression and that she is on suicide watch at a hospital. He did not know what hospital though. I had no clue she was going through anything because she never told me anything was wrong. Anyway, I called a bunch of hospitals asking if my mom was there, and they would say no. So I called this hospital and the operator tells me she can't give me that information over the phone. How stupid is that? How else can I find where my mom is? I don't understand this "policy". If you are looking for someone a simple yes or no she is here should not be a big deal to answer. I didn't ask for personal info, or a room number or anything. I gave my mother's name and asked if she was there. Wow. I'm baffled at why she cannot give me that info over the phone.
