We submitted my mom Aug. 21. They released her Aug. 31. This was the biggest waste of our money. Communication was horrible and still my mom is still no better. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

I first walked in to Kingwood Pines in 2004. I had recently lost 3 family members, my job and my husband of 5yrs was battling a drug addiction. In November of 2004 I had my first pscotic episode. It lasted for a month before I got help. I heard of Kingwood Pines through NAMI, which I had been a member since 1999. I knew something was wrong when I went without sleep for 5 days and started to see and hear things. When I got to the hospital I was very scared and confused but the staff made me very comfotable. The doctor put me on a combintaion of medicine to take away the voices I was hearing. It took a while to work though. I have been through several doctors and different medicines in the past 5 yrs. I currently see a doctor who practices at the hospital. He is wonderful. I take 4 differents medicines for Bipolar and am living a normal life. I live in Humble Tx. with my husband, who has been recovered for 5 yrs. and my two dogs. I enjoyed my pets, outdoors and spending time with family. I would recomend this hospital to anyone who is in need of a place to recover or heal.

Don't leave youur child at this poor excuse for a psch hospital, they are going to make sure that your child is on legal drugs with not even seeing a doctor. That way no one has to deal with what is the real problem for your child. Was told by the doctor over the phone when told I didn't want no drugs to take my son out since they were no Meninger and did not do therapy but used drugs. Son is not there nor will he be there.
