I'm not impress with kingston hospital. my mother has been there for a month and i kept getting mix information from every doctor or PA or nurse. i had a PA tell my mother there wasn't more they could do for her and that he could have her vent pulled and make her comfortable and die. she didn't want to hear any of it and the PA kept on drilling her about dying. Now mother just woke up 3 weeks ago still didn't quite have her bearings and at the time she was out they found a spot on her lung and wanted to biopsy it and i said no because of the risks. they were suppose to watch it.and then she gets moved to a different floor and i get a call that she being put back at the rehab. but in the mean time a doctor went in her room and told her she has metastatic cancer. which she didn't know anything about the spot on the lung or cancer. the doctor went ahead and told her that she has cancer when there was no biospy to prove that.since she can't speak i was told that she told the doctor she was done and they take that in their hands that she's saying that she wants to die. i was told that the staff couldn't understand her or couldn't read lips but all they have done is jump to conclusions.far as i know there is no proof of cancer and now my mother is terrified.what happened to communicating with family with healthcare proxys first? there's no humanity or compassion at that hospital. if your are elderly and have health problems all they want to do is write you off and make sure you die on so they don't have deal with you anymore. i could go on and on about mess up that place is. but i hope people get the message and some thing be done on teaching the staff there about humanity and patients are a number they are someones loved one.
